Another year of AbsoluteFIT, another vacation to rest and enjoy the results!
My family is back on the island (the Big Island), enjoying pretty much our favorite place on Earth — it’s as peaceful and wonderful as ever, and I’m so glad to get to (mostly) unplug and just hang out with my three favorite people (my husband and the kids, now graduated from 5th and 1st grade).
We don’t do a lot here, and that’s the way we like it; we eat fresh fish, we make sandcastles, we snorkel, I usually take a turn with the SUP (stand-up paddle) board and another with a two-person kayak … but the bulk of our time is just lazing about on the sand or in the water. It’s the one time of the year that I don’t bother working out, per se; I’m not totally inactive, but I do think it’s valuable to just — rest sometimes. I hope you and your family get the chance to do the same, wherever makes you happy!
Although, I gotta say: My 45-year-old bod owes a lot to AbsoluteFIT, and I’m darn proud of the work I’ve done to get in the shape I’m in; if I have to swim fast to get away from a tiny little 18-inch-long reef shark, or run across the sand to get a mai tai before the bar closes, I’m pretty sure I can make it. Heh.
