Not All Gifts Can Be Wrapped in Shiny Paper

It’s the time of year we need to remember to live well, love each other, and eat till we can’t eat any more …

I love the holiday season — yes, including all the shopping and cooking and work and juggling it takes — because it’s about family, gratitude, and giving. Even in a year like this, in which it’s seemingly been one awful thing after another in the world at large, we can still find joy as we gather with our loved ones and just appreciate each other.

I love opening shiny things as much as the next gal, but really, I already have so many priceless gifts: my family and friends, my strength and nutrition progress this year, and so many lessons learned and kindnesses given and received.

If part of your holiday season self-care means awesome mood-boosting, calorie-burning workouts, check the schedule and get in there! It’s 45 minutes you’ll be glad to have spent on yourself, and it’ll give you the strength to do more of everything — from putting together teacher gifts, to finding that last stocking stuffer, to standing in heels at the neighbors’ New Year’s Eve party.

I hope that however you’re celebrating, you are surrounded by love … and I’ll see you in the AbsoluteFIT studio as many times as I’m able between now and the new year.
