AbsoluteFIT is for all ages — let my young friend Allie tell you all about her experience!
Allie is one of the younger ones I see in the AbsoluteFIT sessions I attend, so I thought I’d ask her about her AbsoluteFIT experience.
1) Why did you decide to try AbsoluteFIT?
I started going to AbsoluteFIT looking to change up my current exercise routine. I liked the fact that the classes were predominantly HIIT classes, but that I could also take advantage of the Pilates. Overall it was just much more of what I was looking for in gym classes than other group X classes I’d tried.
2) How long have you been doing AbsoluteFIT, and about how often do you attend sessions?
I have been doing it for about four months, and try to go four days a week.
3) What are some of your favorite things about AbsoluteFIT?
I really like the instructors and the people. Everyone is always so welcoming and friendly. I also love the fact that every time I go, it is something new and different. It has given me new exercises to bring to my other workouts. Another thing that is great is that even though the sessions are usually only 45 minutes, at the end I feel like I got a really good workout in.
4) What are your favorite and least favorite moves we do in the workouts?
I love Marie’s “Butts and Guts” class overall. One of my favorite exercises is the lunges where you go back on onto both knees and then back up; I forget what she calls them, but they keep me super honest. I also love the TRX single leg pistol squats. In Pilates, I love the days we do trampoline work. One of my least favorites it the froggy abs with the gliders — if I could never see that again on the [workout] board I would be so happy!
5) Any other comments you’d like to make?
In all honesty, this is a great program and I wish more people were able to take advantage of it. I also know I am really going to miss it in January when I’ve moved!
Thanks for sharing, Allie — see you in the studio!
I’ll be bringing you more AbsoluteFIT friends soon — and if you’d like to share your thoughts as an AbsoluteFIT friend, let me know.
Lydia Markoff is an Almaden-area writer, mom, and fitness enthusiast with Texas roots, a New York education, and a Californian heart. She plays bass, reads a lot, watches too much TV, and can be found in the AbsoluteFIT studio three to five times a week. Her life goals include having a body like Linda Hamilton’s in Terminator 2, and/or having Bill Murray randomly crash a party she is attending. If you need something from her, try bribing her with good coffee or cold beer; odds are, she wants one or the other of those right now.
