AbsoluteFIT with Lydia: Toughening Up!

via – Lydia M, AVAC’s AbsoluteFIT Blogger

Leaving it all on the studio floor is a shockingly good feeling.

After two weeks out, you guys, I gotta be honest: It was TOUGH to drag myself back into the gym. I went through the full cycle of excuses, from “maybe I’ll just run a couple miles on the treadmill and ease back into it,” to “well, it’s a busy day, do I really have the time for a whole AbsoluteFIT session?”

But I did it. I signed up and I showed up yesterday, and there was Jackie, who — as I believe I’ve mentioned before — does. not. play. Oh my gosh, y’all — you know when you get sore in muscles you didn’t realize you had? Yeah. THAT’S what happens in a Jackie workout. And it’s AWESOME.

Within about thirty seconds of starting the warmup, I was like: YEsssssssssss, this is what I’ve been missing! I swear, your very cells come alive in AbsoluteFIT. It felt SO GOOD. I was so glad I’d gone — and I did it again this morning!

The summer has been crazy, but with my kids starting back to school tomorrow, I’ll be able to plan my workouts better — and I’m more than ready for that. I’m looking forward to it!

She plays bass, reads a lot, watches too much TV, and can be found in the AbsoluteFIT studio three to five times a week. Her life goals include having a body like Linda Hamilton’s in Terminator 2, and/or having Bill Murray randomly crash a party she is attending. If you need something from her, try bribing her with good coffee or cold beer; odds are, she wants one or the other of those right now.

  1. Yeehaw!
    Sounds like fun!
Are the calluses for the kettle bells or for playing bass?
