Real people have real-life issues — patience is a virtue!
From the Life Gets In the Way desk: Just as I was getting back into my AbsoluteFIT groove, post-vacation, feeling good, feeling strong … the Low-Grade Illness From Heck struck our house.
I went down first — a day of fiery sore throat and sinus congestion, then a two-degree fever that lasted for five days (along with a sinus headache that resisted all treatment, just banging away up there in my skull).
Then on the day I was going to go back into the studio, the younger kid woke up with a sore throat and a 100.3 on the thermometer — no going to AVAC Childcare, and my husband has to get to the office, so I can’t leave them at home either. The next day, the older one repeated that performance and added a nasty-sounding cough. SIX DAYS of this so far, and they’re both still hovering in the 99.9-100 range — juuuuuuust enough to keep us out of the game.
So I’m repeating to myself: These things happen. It’s not that bad, it’s just kind of annoying. And there’s a million hours of Olympics to watch, so we can at least appreciate athletic performance while we’re not able to be active ourselves, right?
Ahh, so it goes. Hope to be back at it by Thursday!
