Workouts are even better in the new studio!

I know there have got to be a few of you who haven’t yet had a workout in the new AbsoluteFIT studio — I missed the first couple of weeks of its full use, myself — so I’m going to tell you what it’s like in there. (Spoiler alert: It’s awesome!)

  • It’s roomy. So much space! We can do our walking lunges and our pushing-that-insane-heavy-carpeted-box thing across the room — instead of down the catwalk for the entertainment of everyone on the cardio floor, heh. Even if the session is full, you don’t have to worry about your elbows taking out your neighbor.
  • It’s light-filled. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but it is so nice to get all that natural light, and the view of the hills in the distance and the palm trees and the sky — all that stuff is really mood-boosting.
  • It has so much more equipment accessible. There are tons of new “toys” for our workouts — those TRX straps, the heavy throwing balls (like little beanbag chairs, but so satisfying to hurl down), the air bikes, the rowing machines — the trainers can really mix it up now, and the new challenges are a lot of fun.
  • The cool new childcare room is right downstairs. I am a chronically late person (it’s an apparently intractable character flaw), and being able to drop off the kids and just go upstairs is a wonderful convenience. It’s nice knowing they’re right there, too, if you’re the nervous type; a flight of stairs is all that separates you, although it feels like another world when you’re mid-workout and you know they’re having fun too.

What do you guys think about the new space? Share it in the comments!
