It is one of the best, most memorable moments of your life. Your partner gets down on one knee and pops that one question you have been waiting your whole life for……“Will you marry me?”……“YES!!”
O.K., time to get down to business and lose weight before the wedding, but how? Being newly engaged myself, I have been all over the place trying to find the best way to get into the best shape possible without flip flopping my whole schedule to make it work. Here are some of my favorite tips that I have read about over the last couple weeks.
I try to drink as much water as possible because I have always read it is a good way to flush toxins out of your body. Also it keeps something in your stomach so you are not reaching for snacks all day long. I don’t know about you, but at some point I get tired of the taste of just water so at home I keep lemons and cucumbers handy to add to my Brita water.
Being conscious of my serving size is one of the hardest things for me because I am so used to just eating until I’m full. So what I do to help remind myself is use my small salad plates for my meals instead of dinner plates. When I finish that plate I drink my glass of water and start cleaning up. That way it gives my food time to settle. I know this is a huge process, but it works for me. I think in these situations you just have to get creative and almost make it a game.
I am not one to work out consistently on a schedule like most people. I do run and get some cardio in, but it is more of the strength training. I am not good at coming up with “gym” workouts, so I usually try the group fitness classes. The problem with that is I get slightly bored doing the same thing over and over again. So, I searched the web and Pinterest for work out challenges. Some of them are one week challenges and some are month long challenges. It’s just a way to get me motivated and keep myself trying different things.
I’m sure there are more things out there, but these are just the main points that have helped me so far. With 12 months to go, let’s see how fit I can get!
