Hard Work Pays Off | Lydia’s AbsoluteFIT Journey

There’s an old proverb that says “The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.”

In AbsoluteFIT terms, make that about eight months ago, which is when I started the lifestyle. I’ve posted before about my gains in strength, my decreased measurements, my increased energy, and so forth, but this last weekend, on a short music-playing getaway with my husband and friends (we have a band — I’m the bassist, lol), I had another experience of realizing just how far I’ve come: dozens of compliments from people I hadn’t seen in awhile.

I was raised to brush off or downplay all compliments, so as not to appear conceited. But I can’t lie, it was nice — really nice — to have other people notice the results of all my hard work. Sure, there are always going to be people slimmer, more toned, younger than me— but swimsuit season is here, and for the first time in my non-pregnant* adult life, I am ready and feeling good about it.

I’m so glad I started this journey when I did, and with all that positive attention, I’m newly energized to keep going — where will yours take you, three, six, eight months from now?
