First Aid and CPR are vital life skills.
They can help you save lives, and the life you save may be someone you love.

Do you know how to respond in an emergency? People die every day from cardiac problems due to drowning, smoke inhalation, and many other causes simply because family members, friends, and bystanders don’t know how to respond effectively in order to reactivate blood flow to prevent brain damage or death. AVAC offers several First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding courses. Why not take the time to learn a vital skill that can save a life?

CPR/AED  Learn the skills necessary to give appropriate care, regardless of the type of emergency. This course
explains the emergency medical services (EMS) system, and emphasizes the need for rapid medical assistance in an emergency, and provides instruction on CPR, use of an AED, caring for shock, and more.

Basic First Aid  Focuses on life-threatening and non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses such as seizures, stroke, wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, hypothermia, heat exhaustion, and much more.

Lifeguard Instructor  Get certified to teach Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR, and more. Instructor candidates must be 17 years old, able to test out of all Red Cross Lifeguard written and skills tests on the first day, and be comfortable presenting in front of a group using various instruction techniques. Teaching authorization is kept by teaching Red Cross Lifeguarding at least once every 2 years.

Lifeguard Training  Designed for professional rescuers, babysitters, parents, and anyone interested in learning how to recognize & respond to aquatic emergencies. It is the required course to work in California as a lifeguard at a swimming pool or water play area. Through combination of classroom lessons, videos, and in-water skill sessions, participants will learn overall what it takes to prevent aquatic injuries & respond to emergencies.

Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid Plus Adult CPR/AED  Love to play outdoors? Do you run, hike, bike, camp, ski, or boat? Do you take your kids, family, friends, or co-workers with you? If this is you or you just want to learn some really cool advanced first aid techniques, you will LOVE this course. No videos, no slideshows, ALL hands-on in a beautiful park setting. This course will also better prepare you to respond to any emergency, especially when professional help is delayed.
