I have struggled with my weight for the last 8 years. Being a single mom and trying to find time for myself is almost impossible! Maintaining fitness and health has been even more of a challenge.
In the last 10 months I have lost almost 30 pounds. How you ask? I’ve been taking the AbsoluteFIT small group sessions. They offer such a wide variety of sessions and times on their schedule that I have no excuse but to fit in a workout, which works well for me and my busy schedule. The best part is that they are 45 minutes long, by the end of class I am beat, red faced and sweating like crazy!
Katie Kennedy and her fitness team have just launched the next generation of AbsoluteFIT. The program incorporates Pilates, small group training and private/semi private personal training. They have 5 small group sessions you can choose from, Absolute Core/Cardio, Absolute Strength and Endurance, Absolute Power, Absolute Mobility and Absolute Core Stability.
I’ve taken the Absolute core/cardio and Absolute strength/endurance, I can’t wait to take the others. Some weeks I can only make it to 2 classes and others 5. The support the coaches give me is just what I need, if I’m not pushing myself harder, my trainer is!
I started seeing results quickly and it made me realize how Important and beneficial it is to just find the time! Not only losing the actual pounds but the strength I’m building feels great.
I have always been reserved about signing up for races so when my friend and co-worker asked me to do a race with her I shut down. Thinking ‘there’s no-way I can run 3 miles and do crazy obstacles’ Why did I feel like this? I think old habits are hard to break. I’m used to thinking about what I can’t do and not what I can do. I realized that I’m now fit and getting fitter every week. There was no real reason why I couldn’t join Team AVAC and run the ROC race. I’m so happy I did it, it was the best experience I could have given myself, plus I completed it with Team AVAC which makes it that much sweeter. I can’t wait to sign up for my next race. My goal now is to focus on my diet, unfortunately my love of ice-cream runs extremely deep.
