Now, there is nothing better, after a long ride or a hard Spin, than a delicious and healthy home-made smoothie! I wanted to share a very simple recipe with you, it’s my favorite smoothie of all time! I’ve been making this smoothie for years and my wife and 8 year old daughter are huge fans as well. I originally found the recipe in a brilliant book on fitness and nutrition that I read many years ago called “The Abs Diet”. Great meal plans and excellent, simple workout routines. I highly recommend it!
So here’s the recipe:
Abs Diet Ultimate Power Smoothie
- 1 Cup 1% Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt
- 3/4 Cup of Instant Oatmeal (the recipe says cooked – I never bother and just add it dry – it’s still tastes great!)
- 2 Teaspoons of Peanut Butter (I can’t stand Jif – I use Trader Joe’s salted natural smooth)
- 2 Teaspoons of Chocolate Whey
- Handful of Ice Cubes
Chuck it all in a blender, hit start – and Bob’s your Uncle! If you are feeling especially deserving, don’t hold back: Add a scoop of vanilla… ridiculous!
